When your iPod Touch won’t restore, there are things that can be done to get your iPod working. Start out by determining what problems your iPod Touch is encountering. The problem with your iPod Touch is that the update would not complete and the device just won’t recognize iTunes. The simple step is just to put the iPod Touch into the recovery mode, which should restore it back to good working condition. If this does not work and your iPod won’t restart then you need to take other measures in order to get your iPod Touch to restore.
You will find that in some instances, the recovery mode will automatically come on after an update. When this happens, you can activate your iPod Touch through iTunes. The next step is to turn the iPod Touch off by pressing and holding the Sleep-Wake button for just a couple seconds. When you are doing this, make sure that the other end of the cable is still connected to computer’s USB port. You should see the red slider appear, that is your clue to slide the slider until the iPod Touch turns off. This process needs to be done when your iPod won’t work. If this process will not turn off your iPod Touch then you will need to press and hold the Home buttons and the Sleep-Wake button until the iPod Touch turns off. Now it is time to press the Home button and hold it while you are connecting the USB cable to the iPod. When you connect the iPod cable system, you will find that the iPod device will power on. The iPod won’t restore just yet you need to keep holding the Home button until you are connected to iTunes. The iPod screen will tell you when your unit is connected to iTunes, then is the time to turn loose of the Home button. At this point, your iPod Touch will show the recovery mode alert in the iPod screen. Now the iPod should restore very successfully for you.
