PlayStation Portable is one of the best gadgets ever made by Sony. It is used mainly as a game console, but it has other functionalities as well. These include music and video playing. For PSP 2000 and 3000 users, their device has a bonus function. They can plug their PSP 2000 or 3000 into a flat screen or any kind of TV and watch their PSP UMD movies on their TV.

How to Watch PSP UMD Movies on TV
Step 1: Connect your PSP to your TV
Do this by connecting your PSP to an AV cable that is connected at the other end to your TV. The site of connection for your PSP is found at the bottom of your device. The site of connection of your TV to your AV cable is color coded. Just match the colors of the plugs on the TV to the plugs on your PSP. A component cable usually has 5 colored plugs, while a normal composite cable has 3 plugs.
Step 2: Turn the TV on and select your source of input
Your source of input will depend on where you plugged your AV cable. This can be in Video 1, Video 2, HDMI, etc. Look for the designated source and assign that as your TV’s video screen. (Tip: if you can’t find the proper source, do a trial-and-error of all possible sources or read you TV manual. Also, you could check if you plugged the cable properly).
Step 3: Turn your PSP on
Next, press and hold the display button. The display button is the button with a curved rectangle sign located on the front of the PSP. Once your PSP screen blacks out, your new PSP screen will be your TV. Navigate your PSP using the TV as your screen.
Step 4: Insert your movie into the PSP UMD (if you haven’t done that yet).
Go to the Video menu of your PSP. (Remember, the TV is your screen).
Step 5: Locate the movie you want to watch
By navigating your PSP and going to your PSP’s Video menu. Go to the movie you want to watch and press X.
Step 6: Done with your movie
Press and hold the display button again to bring the operating screen on your PSP again. You may now disconnect the cables from your TV and PSP.
Additional Notes
1. Remember to charge your battery or plug it to your AC charger if the video you are planning to watch is long or you want to watch multiple movies.
2. This procedure works only with PSP 2000 and 3000. PSP 1000 does not have this feature.
3. With the said PSP versions, you can also play games on your TV screen, in addition to watching movies.
