Due to our tight schedule and fast-paced lifestyle, we want our routines to be as streamlined and time-saving as possible. It is of great significance to be able to communicate in a fast and efficient manner. We want all the information, strategies, and the appropriate technology in the palm of our hands. Lately, our mobile phones do not only offer a way to communicate from phone to phone but through the internet as well.
We don’t have to sit down and open our laptops to exchange information through email since we can now email people anywhere and anytime through our smart phones. The iPhone is a multimedia and internet-laden phone from Apple. It is a very popular phone because of its style, functionality, and user-friendly layout. It is also connected to different web companies such as Yahoo! and Google, as well as social sites like Facebook and Twitter.
If you have a Google account and wondering if you can link your Google data to your iPhone, Google sync technology does that for you. It enables the transfer and synchronisation of your Google contacts or address books to your iPhone. You also have the option to synchronize your Gmail and calendar information. This will work on iPhones with iOS version of 3.0 and beyond.
All you have to do is follow these 7 easy steps:
Step 1: Go to your iPhone “Settings”and press “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” and press “Add Account”
Step 2: Choose “Microsoft Exchange” and fill out the corresponding details:
Type in your Gmail email address on the “Email” box
Leave the “Domain” box blank
Type in your Gmail username and password in their corresponding boxes
Step 3: Press “Next”. Your phone will now start verifying your account. This usually takes less than a minute.
Step 4: Press “Cancel” when the “Unable to Verify Certificate” appears. This is a part of the procedure so there is nothing to worry about.
Step 5: Fill in the new “Server” box added on your screen with “m.google.com”. Press “Next”. Your phone will now start to verify the settings.
Step 6: Now that the verification is finished, slide the “Contacts” to “On”. You can now choose to turn your “Mail” and “Calendar” “On” to transfer these information as well.
Step 7: A warning message will appear after you have set the “Contacts” to “On” asking you what you want to do with your existing contacts. If you want to avoid duplication of the information, you may want to press “Delete”. This will delete your existing contacts and replace it with your Gmail ones. You also have the option to keep the existing contacts on your phone.
To successfully transfer your contacts to your phone, make sure you have a good internet connection. Whenever you add new contacts to your Gmail account, it will be automatically added to your iPhone when you connect to the internet.
