iCloud is the newest way to sync your favorite gadgets fast and conveniently. With this app, all your favorite gadgets will automatically get synced. For instance, you used your PC or your MAC to download a song. If your iCloud is activated, this song will automatically get transferred to your iPhone or iPod Touch.
More than this, it also works in the reverse direction; that is, whatever you download in your iPhone or iPod will automatically be copied to your computer. It sounds exciting, right?
Here’s how you can use iCloud for your convenience.
Setting up your iCloud
Before you can officially start using your iCloud, there are several prerequisites which you need to accomplish. Here they are:
1) Get an iOS 5. iCloud is compatible exclusively with iOS 5, as such it is imperative that your gadget’s OS is updated with the latest version. If you are not running on this OS, you can update yours by logging onto the Apple website.
2) Get the latest version of iTunes. iCloud does not run on just any iTunes. You have to get at least an iTunes 10.5. Similar to the OS, newer versions of the iTunes are available in the Apple website so you can visit that website for updates.
3) Sign up for an Apple ID. Since iCloud works by transferring files through an “internet cloud,” your online Apple account should be activated.
When you first set up your iCloud, you will be asked to sign up for an Apple ID. Fill up the form. However, if you skipped this step before, you can still set up and ID by following the steps below.
- For iGadgets: just go to your gadget’s settings, then go to store. There, you will be asked to sign up for an Apple ID. Similarly, you can go to settings, then iCloud to set up your ID.
Now, when you want to access iCloud using your computer, all you need to do is log in to iTunes and iCloud using the same Apple ID.
For MAC: go to the Apple Menu, click system preferences, then proceed to iCloud, where you will be asked to sign in using your Apple ID. Similarly, go to iTunes, then proceed to iTunes setting. There, type in your Apple ID.
For PC: Go to control panel, then go to network and internet. Click on iCloud and enter your Apple ID. Similarly, go to iTunes, and then enter your ID upon clicking on the iTunes store.
Now, you are all set up for your iCloud. Here’s how you can use your iCloud now!
Using iCloud in your iGadget
Assuming that you have set up everything said above, here’s how you can keep your gadgets synced:
- Turn Auto-downloading on
On your iGadget: Go to your settings. There, go to store. You will see several options you may automatically download. Turn them on.

This feature gives you access to your past music purchases, among other things, so you could put them in your new iOS device. Here’s how you can do this.
Using your iGadget: You have to open the specific app that you want to manage. In our case, we want to sync music. So, go to iTunes, and then look for Purchased at the left part of the side bar. Just click on it and you will readily see your purchased songs.
