When you find that for some reason your iPod Nano has frozen, do not get alarmed. There is a way for you to be able to unfreeze a frozen iPod Nano because it is not broken. There are certain things that can make you think that the iPod Nano maybe broken but in reality, it has just froze into position.
Consider Your iPod’s Battery
You should first consider the battery that is in your iPod Nano before you start to unfreeze it. When you think that the problem stems from having a low battery, then changing the battery would be an easy solution. Just make sure that you know how to change the battery or have read the instructions in order to prevent damage to the battery or the iPod Nano.
When you find that the HOLD is locked then you will need to be able to get the locked mode released. You will know that your iPod Nano is frozen when the small lock symbol appears on your screen. In order to release the HOLD from the locked position slide the HOLD back and forth once or until the locked icon disappears. Normally this will release your iPod Nano from the frozen position.
Other methods to unfreeze iPod Nano
When you find that the simple method of sliding the Hold back and forth does not unlock your iPod Nano then there is other methods that you may try that will unfreeze iPod Nano. Let us start all over again to achieve our goal. You will want to shift the Hold button back and forth only once. Then you should press the MENU button and CENTER button at the same time until the Apple start-up logo appears. In other words, you are doing the same thing that you would do to restart your PC. This method is another means on how to unfreeze your iPod Nano.
If pushing the HOLD button and the MENU button together does not work to release the iPod Nano then you should try this method instead.
1. Start by shifting the HOLD button back and forth just one time.
2. Then you will want to press the MENU button and PLAY button at the same time until you see the Apple start-up logo. Usually the Apple start-up logo will appear to let you know that you have unfrozen your iPod Nano. This is another way to unfreeze your iPod Nano.
How to unfreeze iPod Nano using the Manual Power Reset
When you feel that you need to use the manual power reset system then you should cut off all power to the iPod Nano and remove it from the charger if you have it on the charger. Next, it is important that you allow the battery to drain totally or remove it from the iPod Nano before you unfreeze it. Then you will want to let the iPod Nano set for about a minute or so before you replace the battery. You can put the battery back in your iPod Nano or charge it up again if it was drained. Finally, you will want to restart the iPod Nano this will then unfreeze the iPod Nano and you can use it as you normally would without having problems of it freezing up on you.
