Gun Bros – Kill Them All Before You Die

Gun Bros is a shoot ‘em up that views the world differently. The point of view for the gamer is from the vertical top, so the enemies can clearly be seen – not that there will be any lack of things to kill. That is going to be your problem, especially with the free version – your two single shots, while effective in the early levels, slowly become useless as your enemies become more difficult to kill.

The Catharsis of Gun Bros

It really doesn’t matter if you live or die in Gun Bros – the purpose of the game is not to teach you the niceties of strategy or even teamwork with a partner if you have updated your Gun Bros version and have enabled the Multiplayer option. The essence of all shoot ‘em up games is real simple – just plain get them all.

Gun Bros-1

And even with petty weapons at your side, it just makes the game more addicting – you have to get as many of them as you can in spite of all the odds. Identifying the monsters and the enemy weapons is an important skill to master – it could extend your life a couple of seconds more. If you still don’t get it, you are going to die in Gun Bros – no ifs or buts about it. The free version especially makes it easier for you.

One life is probably good enough for a couple of minutes, even with a teammate. Just enough time for a game during a coffee break, or a session for lunch. And with just enough violence to clear your head and angst over your day – that is the real purpose of Gun Bros.

Additional Features in Gun Bros

View the technical requirements below and understand the limitations of the Multiplayer aspect of Gun Bros before trying it out. A feature with the Multiplayer Option is called the Death Match, where you get to kill another human player within the confines of the game. Talk about catharsis.

The thing is, with a vertical point of view, the end result of any Death Match is always the same – the two of you blasting away at each other toe to toe. Some people misunderstand this – silliness and violence have always existed in peaceful coexistence in this genre. The more frustrated you are at the game, the more you keep trying, and the funnier it all becomes when you keep dying too.

Gun Bros-2

Voice Chat with a game like this can only lead to trash talk in a Death Match, curses at the ineptness of your teammate should he die first, or apologies if you leave your teammate alone to die because you weren’t watching his back. Depending on how seriously you take the game, disabling the Voice Chat may extend the span of your life in Gun Bros – but you are also muting one great gameplay experience with voice interaction with your partner or Death Match competitor.

The important thing to remember is that Gun Bros is just a game. Another thing to remember is that the more you take the game seriously, the more you are going to like it. So quit complaining about two pistols or ineffective weapons in the free version, or the unfair strength of your enemies in Gun Bros. Man up, go out and die in the blaze of glory Gun Bros made especially for you.
