Want to live the life of a professional hit man, an enforcer or a freelance assassin? Tag yourself whatever you like, but you’re most definitely a Contract Killer! You will be the first-person shooter to play the role of a hired killer.
About the Game
Glue Games Inc, who has already given us The Lord of the Rings: Middle-earth Defense Prologue, is the brilliant mind behind Contract Killer. The developer also backed other popular games like Transformers G1: Awakening and Paperboy: Special Delivery. The creator promises to keep updating Contract Killer while keeping it all free. Basically, your contracts will push you through the game until you reach the highest levels. Your mission becomes more difficult and challenging as the game progresses.
The Gameplay

The storyline is very simple, and as the name suggests, your mission here is to take contracts and target the bad guys. You will initially work for the government but after a short time you will start taking random tasks from various underground contracts. Early in the game, you will only be equipped with a basic rifle. As the game evolves, you will earn money and XP points that you can use to upgrade your weapon. You will utilize a few of your “energy points” every time you’re out on a mission.
While you are the go-to guy, you may also lose the energy needed to complete the assignment. If such is the case, you can either buy more energy or wait to complete your refractory period. You should also protect your “health points” which start at 100 for each contract. The points diminish with every shot fired at you. If it reaches zero then you will obviously fail to complete the mission.
But don’t worry. Med kits are available to keep you in the game. As you press toward the next level, you will get additional informants, expand your territory, and unlock more deadly weapons and thus the more intense the game becomes. You will have about 17 missions to accomplish and wherein you can select your weapon of choice for each mission. There are about 20 deadly weapons including handguns, sniper rifles, machine guns, assault rifles from the inventory.
User Interface
The interface is pretty gauche for an iPhone, although it could turn out much better on larger screen. You will be given a brief walkthrough early in the game, in which your early missions could serve as your training. Unfortunately, some elements of the interface are left unexplained. For instance, the map can rather be useless until you have experimented by tapping all the icons yourself.
Graphics and Sound Effects
You will enjoy a 3D visual environment at every level, although none of the environments are really amazing. The graphics are fairly sophisticated for an iPhone game, and how the app is visually presented makes it feel like a serious game. They are very straightforward and functional. The frame rate and targeting motions also run very smoothly for such a small device. You will also experience great combat sounds during missions which give life to the game.

The Drawback
For a free app, Contract Killer is a really good game that will always keep you on guard. However, there’s also a downside to the game. Loading time can really become very slow which takes out the excitement off the game. There’s also a surprising absence of social elements in the game. For a game that’s somehow inspired by Facebook’s Mafia-style gaming, there’s just no social interaction involved in Contract Killer. You may also be tempted to make in-app purchases if you want to speed up the game or buy really good guns. In addition, the game is not suitable for young gamers out there– for obvious reasons.
Can’t wait to take the law in your own hands?
If you’re a fan of sniper games, then you should definitely download Contract Killer on your iPhone. There’s really no reason for skimping this free game in the App Store. Believe it or not, there’s just something about the game that’s sure to grip on you.
