Angry Birds is one of the most successful mobile games ever. It would be unusual for a successful game to come free, but the free edition is just to let you get a feel of what the whole angry birds fever is all about. The free edition is just enough to get you hooked. It has 5 mini episodes and 15 levels. You may be wondering “Just 15 levels?” Wait until you play the game to find out how much skill you really need in order to succeed.
Who stole the eggs? It’s the green pigs and they’re hiding out in their fortress. If they think that they’re invincible behind those walls, they had better think again because the birds have tricks up their own sleeves.
Angry Birds is a physics game, where you have to be good at judging a trajectory in order to get the best results. Your objective is to destroy the fortress that the green pigs are hiding in and you do this by aiming a sling shot with the birds as your projectiles. If you get the right trajectory, you can destroy the building and kill the green pigs.
The Gameplay
Killing the green pigs who stole the birds’ eggs is more difficult than what it would seem. You need to aim that sling shot in a way that the birds will do the most damage to the building. Each of the birds has their own destructive powers and using the right birds at the right targets will move you to the next level.
The hardest part of the game is getting the sling shot in the right angle. When the birds hit the building, part of it will fall and cause other parts to fall as well. If you hit the right spot it will create a sort of domino effect and you can kill all of the green pigs.
User Interface
A simple tap, drag and another tap will send the pigs on their way. Unfortunately, dragging the sling shot to the right angle can be somewhat difficult. You’ll need time and practice to get a feel of how the birds will hit the building when you set the sling shot at a certain angle.
Graphics & Sound Effects
This is probably the reason why Angry Birds became so popular. The graphics are nice, but maybe a bit small. It’s a bit difficult to recognize the pigs on a small phone.
The Drawback
There aren’t many complaints about the game itself. However, the free edition does contain ads and they pop up on the top of the screen. The ads can sometimes block the view and can be quite annoying.
Conclusion
Angry Birds is definitely one of the most popular mobile games. The free edition will give you just enough levels to get a feel of the game. The ads are a bit of a discomfort and can ruin the experience a little bit, but the game still remains as challenging.
